A dramatic 19th-century French chandelier with an airy, sculptural silhouette and beautifully aged painted finish. The chandelier features a tall architectural central column surrounded by sweeping, looping iron arms, decorative spheres, carved-style details, and numerous suspended teardrop ornaments.
Its distressed antique white, cream, and gilt-gold surface gives the piece exceptional patina and Old World character. The unusually fluid framework creates a light, almost whimsical presence despite its impressive scale. Designed as much as a decorative sculpture as a lighting fixture, it would make a striking focal point over a dining table, in an entry hall, great room, or high-ceiling interior.
